📋 Job Summary

The Civil Engineer SME will support the AFCENT TSG (Air Force Central Command Theater Support Group) by providing cradle-to-grave civil and structural engineering services, including planning, development, construction monitoring, and project closeout. This role ensures all base engineering projects meet U.S. and Host Nation standards while ensuring operational excellence and safety.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze engineering plans, specifications, and designs for efficiency and code compliance.
Monitor Host Nation-funded construction projects and renovations across a range of facilities.
Interpret and develop technical project layouts, calculations, and specifications.
Coordinate project planning and execution with multiple stakeholders, including military and civil agencies.
Support investigative engineering services (e.g., power, HVAC, water systems).
Ensure as-built drawings and post-project documentation are accurate and up to date.
Verify compliance with U.S. and Host Nation building codes, resolving discrepancies.
Assist in installation master planning and ensure alignment with Site Master Plan (SMP).
Represent AFCENT TSG in community planning discussions and cross-agency meetings.
Conduct field surveys and integrate data into GIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Maintain accurate records, mapping, and documentation for all construction activities.
Provide liaison support for special projects involving agencies such as USACE or AFCEC.

✅ Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
Minimum 4 years of civil engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Active Secret Security Clearance (required).
Strong expertise in AutoCAD (2012 or later) and Microsoft Project.
Familiarity with U.S. and Host Nation codes (UFC, AFIs, etc.).
Ability to travel within CENTCOM AOR up to 4 times per year.
Excellent communication and coordination skills in English.
