Position Summary

As a Guest Environment Expert (Cleaner), your primary role is to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring every space meets Marriott’s high standards. You are empowered to proactively address guest needs, contribute to the hotel’s presentation, and help create an exceptional environment that feels like home for every guest.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to Marriott standards.
  • Restock amenities such as toiletries, linens, and supplies on housekeeping carts and in guest rooms.
  • Handle guest requests professionally, ensuring quick and effective response.
  • Vacuum carpets, dust surfaces, and remove trash from rooms and designated hotel zones.
  • Sanitize high-touch areas and adhere to enhanced cleaning protocols for health and safety.
  • Maintain guest privacy and room security while servicing occupied rooms.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards.
  • Ensure housekeeping carts are organized and stocked at the start and end of each shift.
  • Support team members with shared cleaning tasks and assist in training new staff when needed.
  • Follow company policies on uniform, grooming, safety, and workplace conduct.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties including bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Uphold confidentiality, integrity, and a positive brand image in all interactions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning is an advantage, but not required—training will be provided.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English (Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Physically fit and able to work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support other departments as needed.
  • Friendly and respectful demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.

Salary & Benefits

Estimated Salary Range (Hong Kong): HKD 12,000 – HKD 15,000/month (market dependent)
