🧾 Job Summary
The Caregiver role is essential in promoting the independence and quality of life of our senior clients. You will assist with daily living tasks, personal care, meal preparation, and companionship, while also serving as a dependable connection between clients and their families. Your support helps create a safer, healthier, and more fulfilling home environment for every person you serve.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support with mobility and transferring, ensuring client safety at all times.
- Prepare and serve nutritious Canadian-style meals based on client needs and preferences.
- Assist with medication reminders and monitoring, where applicable.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, dusting, and tidying living spaces.
- Offer companionship, engage in meaningful conversation, and encourage recreational activities.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with the office team and client families.
- Observe and report any changes in client health or behavior.
- Uphold client confidentiality and dignity at all times.
- Travel to and provide care in various locations within Saint John and surrounding communities.
🎓 Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 1 year of professional caregiving experience (home care, facility, or private).
- Caregiving certification or training preferred.
- Proven ability to provide personal care for both male and female clients.
- Reliable transportation is essential for travel between client homes.
- Ability to cook simple, nutritious meals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada (sponsorship is not available).

Most care is provided one-on-one in the client’s home, but you will stay in contact with our support office.

Benefits like dental and extended health care are available for qualifying team members depending on hours worked.
8. Is sponsorship or a work permit provided?
Unfortunately, we do not provide sponsorship. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
9. What if I don’t drive but live in Saint John?
Driving is required due to the nature of traveling between clients in various neighborhoods and towns.
10. How quickly can I start after applying?
