📋 Job Summary
As a Civil Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of urban development and transportation projects, focusing on road design, active transport, and drainage systems. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept to detailed design and handover.
You’ll work alongside a team of highly skilled engineers, planners, and designers — creating solutions for projects that serve both public and private sector clients.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed civil design solutions for roadways (urban, rural, local), intersections, and transport corridors.
- Prepare and review concept designs, preliminary and final drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Design drainage systems and apply hydrological and stormwater engineering principles.
- Manage small-to-medium projects end-to-end; support larger projects as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Apply and interpret Austroads, TMR, and Local Government standards.
- Use AutoCAD and 12D software to develop and refine engineering documentation.
- Contribute to business development, including proposal writing and project scoping.
- Participate in regular team meetings, design reviews, and strategic planning.
- Support junior team members in technical and career development.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and design regulations.

📚 Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent recognized qualification).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a civil design role within a consulting or infrastructure environment.
- Proficient in 12D and AutoCAD.
- Familiar with Austroads guidelines, TMR, and local council standards.
- Strong understanding of road, drainage, earthworks, and active transport infrastructure.
- Ability to produce clear design documentation, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Effective project management and team coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

💰 Salary & Benefits
Estimated salary range: AUD $100,000 – $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
