📋 Job Summary

As a Personal Caregiver, you’ll work directly with clients in their homes, providing personal assistance, companionship, and support with daily tasks. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility, empathy, and making a direct impact on someone’s life. This is a casual role with weekday hours, particularly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 pm–5:00 pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:45 am–11:15 am for ROM routine.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene and daily living activities (bathing, dressing, mobility support).
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote mental well-being.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or community activities, as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition or behavior to supervisors.
  • Adhere to personalized care plans and follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Implement infection control practices and follow COVID-19 precautions.
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation in line with company standards.
  • Support clients with medication reminders and health monitoring.
  • Attend training sessions and maintain required certifications.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, families, and care team members.
  • Maintain professionalism, compassion, and confidentiality at all times.

✅ Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Completion of accredited caregiver training (e.g., PSW or HCA certificate).
  • Foreign-trained nurses and students in 2nd-year RPN or 3rd-year RN programs are also eligible.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle (required).
  • Proficient in English; French and bilingualism are strong assets.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg, stand, squat, bend, and assist with physical transfers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community caregiving principles and practices.
  • Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (mandatory).
  • Up-to-date vaccinations as per provincial health guidelines.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently.
