Job Summary
We are currently seeking 2 experienced Welders to join our growing team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for reading technical drawings, fabricating structural components, performing high-precision welds, and ensuring finished products meet safety and quality standards. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently under limited supervision.
Welder Jobs in New Zealand Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to plan welding work.
- Select, prepare, and clean metal parts prior to assembly and welding.
- Cut metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutters, or cutting machines.
- Shape and bend metal parts using machine tools, hammers, or heat processes.
- Align and clamp metal components using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Weld structural components using MIG, TIG, Arc, or Gas welding techniques.
- Inspect welds for strength, precision, and uniformity.
- Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiseling, or grinding as required.
- Finish completed pieces by polishing, buffing, and applying protective coatings.
- Follow strict health and safety guidelines at all times on-site and in workshops.
- Maintain welding equipment in good condition and report any faults promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other team members on larger fabrication projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in welding or steel fabrication.
- Solid understanding of various welding techniques and metal preparation methods.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication instructions.
- Strong focus on workplace safety and PPE compliance.
- Physically fit, able to lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a small team.
- Good communication skills and a positive work attitude.
- Trade certification in welding or fabrication is a plus but not mandatory.

Salary & Benefits
💰 Hourly Pay Rate: NZD $30.00/hour
📅 Work Days: 5–6 days per week
